My giveaway this Friday is a King James Version Study Bible and Telling God’s Story.

2011 marked the 400th anniversary of the King James Version of the Bible, a landmark that gained worldwide media attention and researched estimates that more than one billion copies of KJV editions have been sold to date. This KJV Study Bible features 15,000 study notes, 141 photos, 62 timelines, 59 maps, 40-page concordance, 20 articles and essays, 16 illustrations and reconstructions, 15 charts, and a helpful glossary of 17th century expressions relative to the KJV’s signature phrasing. Other details of the KJV Study Bible include a two-column text setting, center-column cross references, the words of Christ in red, one- and three- year Bible reading plans, a notes section, four-color presentation page, and two-piece die-cut gift box.

telling-gods-storyAlso included is Telling God’s Story, a new book from Preben Vang and Terry Carter. This book looks closely at the Bible from its beginning in Genesis to its conclusion in Revelation, and bridges the gaps for those whose Bible knowledge is in random order. Ideal for classroom study, it features supporting charts, photographs, and illustrations.

To enter the giveaway, tell us if you had to pick a vacation spot, would it be the mountains or the beach.

The deadline to enter is midnight CDT this Saturday. We will draw one winner from the entries on Monday morning.

I would go to the mountains, I live for a time on the beach and I got my fill of sand in the clothes.

I would chose the beach with mountains close by such as Hawaii. With Hawaii you get the best of both locations the wonderful sound of the crashing waves and warm.sun. Then later you can hike up a peak for fresh crisp mountain air with a hint of the salt air.

I would pick the mountains. I grew up in Montana in a valley near Red Lodge. We hoed sugar beets every summer to be able to attend Mount Ellis Academy in Bozeman. We could see the snow on the mountain tops as we walked up and down the half mile rows in the 90+ degree heat. There is something majestic about the mountains. Moses met God on the mountain, Jesus was encouraged by Moses and Elijah on a mountain, we hiked up mountains with church friends and family. One feels extra close to heaven at the mountain top, and yet so small in comparison to all around. God is so great, yet He loves us so much!

The Mountains. I live in western Colorado, so I feel like I am on vacation all of the time! Some body has to serve the Lord here!!! :)

  5. Robert Ivey says

Depends on my mood at the time. Sometimes it would be the mountains and other times the beach. Just depends when you ask me.

  6. says

I would love to go to either, but if I had to make a choice right now, it would be the mountains. The days where I live have been 100 plus degrees. I am ready for cooler weather.

  7. Jaime... says

I enjoy mountains some times; if they have a big open view. But they are usually way too hard to get to if they do. So for vacations, I have to say, I prefer the beach.. it’s more relaxing watching water come and go.

  8. Jerry Chancey says

Love the mountains & would love leaving today. When my daughter made her first trip to the Smokies as a child ask us ” what the smoke was?” We told her that was clouds. In a short while she said “WHEN ARE WE GOING TO SEE JESUS?” Mountains always remind me of our Great & Mighty God! :)

  9. says

I have a great affinity for the sea, but I’m sure I’d enjoy either, especially if they were located in Israel! Iv’e heard great reviews about “The Grafted Inn”. ;) Peace!

  10. Monsa says

Mountains everytime! I have spent a lot of my life in both locations and I always love being in the mountains. Esspecially the mountains in the southwest U.S. where the air is cool and dry.

  11. Linda Carpenter says

BUCKET LIST – MONTANA. I will be 68 on 20th, so need to start working on that list.

If don’t make my bucket list, that is ok. Heaven will be sweeter than any mountain or beach could ever be.

Glad you made it to Tampa and visited with our Pastor. Sweet.

  12. Jason Jarvis says

Beach – a picture of God’s love and grace. The infinite number of grains of sand, and the water’s depth and expanse are beyond my understanding.

  13. Jessica Watts says

I would choose the mountains over the beach any day! I would choose the mountains because we like nature and hiking and the cooler weather. We love the Gatlinburg area and get out there from time to time.

  14. Bill Deitch says

I prefer the mountains. For me it holds more wonder to see the majesty of the mountains. Plus the beach has sand, and sand gets everywhere!

  15. Nikole Maki says

I would choose a hiking/outdoors vacation in the mountains. I’m not coordinated enough for snowboarding or skiing, but I’d love to take some time to get away from everything (including technology) and spend some time soaking in the wonders of God’s creations.

  16. says

Being from Colorado I could never consider the beach over the mountains. After all, which is closer to heaven – the highest, most noble peak or flat sea level? Heaven must be mountainous majesty!

  17. Tammy Derryberry says

We just drove home from a mountain vacation. Got to explore Grandfather Mtn yesterday and saw Casting Crowns in the lawn of the Biltmore with the sun setting on the mountains. It was so special. But I’m missing the beach. We’ll be going to Destin to see Big Daddy Weave in September and I can’t wait to see, hear, feel and smell the beach! I love both but I think I’m a beach girl! :)

  18. Ms. Alabama says

I missed the cut off but…THE BEACH. Any country, any ocean, any beach. I am awestruck by it’s healing with God’s power. It’s such a peaceful wonder of my awesome God!

  19. Thom Rainer says

Thank you for your comments. The beach is a favorite vacation spot for our family. This week’s winner is Tom Austin. Congratulations!
