Friday Is for Freebies: The Anabaptists and Contemporary Baptists

This week’s giveaway includes a pair of ministry resources. First is The Anabaptists and Contemporary Baptists, edited by Malcolm Yarnell. According to the scholarly and pastoral authors of The Anabaptists and Contemporary Baptists, an essay collection, sixteenth-century Anabaptists have much to teach Baptists and other Free Church evangelicals. Scholars and pastors (Paige Patterson, Rick Warren, etc.) offer essays on sixteenth-century Anabaptists (Balthasar Hubmaier, Leonhard Schiemer, Hans Denck, etc.) proposing to recover the Anabaptist vision among Baptists as a means of restoring New Testament Christianity.

Also included is a black, genuine leather version of the HCSB Minister’s Bible. This newly designed edition is ideal for pulpit use with its large type, wide margins, and extensive ancillary notes from many of today’s top preachers and church leadership voices.

Some features of the Bible include:

  • Where to Turn When . . .
  • Plan of Salvation
  • Four-color presentation page
  • Various wedding and funeral outlines by Jim Henry
  • “8 Traits of Effective Church Leaders” by Thom S. Rainer
  • “21 Essentials of Authentic Ministry” by James T. Draper
  • “Four Kinds of Expositional Preaching” by Ed Stetzer
  • “30 Keys to Giving an Invitation” by O. S. Hawkins
  • “Leading a Child to Christ” by Bill Emeott
  • “Reaching Students with the Gospel” by Lynn H. Pryor
  • “The Importance of Baptism and Communion” by Rick White

Sorry guys do not follow much and if did would be something closer like Penn State. Guess this “SBC Yanky” will not win this one. To bad the antibaptist book looks very good.

  2. Don Durbin says

I would have to guess Alabama
    21 to 17 .
    Happy thanksgiving in
    Advance . Show your love
    For The Lord by helping
    A poverty stricken family thru
    The holidays . What a blessing :-)

  3. says

I don’t follow college ball, I only know my home team the Denver Broncos are fantastic this year. I’d have to go with the majority who have commented and say Alabama will be victorious. Not certain what to guess about the final score. Hope this doesn’t disqualify me from the give away!

  4. says

Well, since every possible score has already been chosen, except this one, I’ll take Bama winning 3-2 in the bottom of the ninth. Wait, I meant in the 4th quarter.

  5. Phillip Swindall says

Although I’ve already posted, I just wanted to say that whatever Lee Corso predicted, I pick the opposite! (Only because most Bama fans don’t like Lee)

  6. Vanta Greenwood says

There were 2 people who guessed the correct score. David Roberts and Lee (no last name). So was there a drawing or was it the first one to guess that score? Just curious.
